Leather Type
The Leather type has more to do with supply than anything. I find the best leather I can find where ever I happen to be and by an entire hide, which makes quite a few slings, but I eventually run out of that color and type and have to buy another. So my tan leather slings were made from the first hide I ever bought. The black shiny, and brown leather came from quarter-hide pieces I bought in the Darjeeling Hills of India. The Supple Black leather is from a hide I bought at Thoroughbred Leather in Louisville KY.
